Ojo De Liebre Whale watching tour

We are staying at Ojo De Liebre Lagoon Campground. It was dinner time when we got to the campground and they have a little restaurant, so we had dinner here.  We had fish and shrimp taco’s.  They were very good!   We got up early and went for a whale watching tour.  There were 6 of us on the boat and the guide (Antonio).  He took us out on the lagoon and we got up close and personal with the whales!!  I cannot believe how friendly these whales are!  They come right up to the boat you can pet them!!  They love it!!!  I have to say that this has been the highlight of the trip so far!!  The guide told us that as of today there were 1200 whales in the Lagoon.  The whales come all the way from the Bearing Sea in Alaska to the Ojo De Liebre Lagoon to give birth to their babies.  They do this trip every year!  We got to spend an hour with the whales, and we got lots of great pictures!!  To get to this campground you drive across the salt flats, which is very cool!!  This campground has designated spots and is wide open.  We have a terrific view of the lagoon!  We sit outside and can watch the whales breaching and spouting right from our campsite!!  This is a very nice place, although it is windy!!
