Almost Done!!

I can't believe that the summer is almost over, it has gone so fast!  We have had a great summer!  The weather has been awesome, although we could use some rain now to ease the fire situation!  Doug has enjoyed doing maintenance, and I have enjoyed working in the store.
We have had Fridays and Saturdays off this year and were able to see family more.  In July we were able to go to Jess(my nephew) and Tanya's wedding which was in Edson.  We were so happy to be able to attend!!  Also, Aug. 11th we went to Phantom of the Opera, which was sooooo excellent!!
It is starting to wind down and not be so busy out here.  I am looking forward to spending some time with family before we head down to Arizona for the winter.  This year we booked Tower Point Resort in Mesa, Arizona.  We will stay put for 4 months at the resort.  I look forward to not driving so much and just doing day trips from Mesa!
My handsome Nephew Jess and his beautiful bride Tanya!

Heyburn Riverside R.V. Park in Idaho

Last night we stayed overnight at a flying J in Wells, Nevada.  Today we drove to Heyburn, Idaho and are staying at Heyburn Riverside R.V. Park.  This park is on the Snake River.  We will be staying here for 3 nights.  Then we make the push to Alberta.  We are looking forward to getting back and seeing the kid's and grandkid's, we missed them a lot!!

Cathedral Gorge State Park, Nevada

We spent 3 nights at Cathedral Gorge State Park in Nevada.  This is a very nice campground and a very unique area.  We did a couple of hikes while we were here.  We walked to the slot canyons and explored the caves, then did the 1.5 mile hike, Eagle Point Trail.  What a spectacular view from there! The next day we did Hawk's Ridge Trail which was 5 miles.  This was also a trail with beautiful views.  Low and behold we saw a hawk circling above us.  We really enjoyed this area, it is very beautiful!!

Vegas to Bauer Canyon RV Park Utah

Yesterday we drove from Vegas to Bauer Canyon Ranch RV Park, our next stop on our journey.  We had a very long day due to taking highway 9 to Zion Park and being turned back because we were to long.(They should have had a sign in La Verkin stating this)  On our way back down we got the signal in our truck that we had a tire that was low.  By the time we got back into La Verkin our tire was flat.  Doug had to change it and this took about an hour.  We got back on the road and pulled into Bauer Canyon about 8:30PM.  They had a sign on the door stating our spot.  We got all set up and relaxed for the rest of the evening.  Today we went to Zion National Park and did some walking around and just taking in the beauty around us!  Zion is a spectacular park, it's beauty just takes my breath away!  We had an awesome day!

Vegas Baby!!

Today Doug and I took the shuttle from Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino, which is close to our RV Park to the Strip.  We spent about 4 hours walking around!  It was very busy!!  Probably because it is Easter Weekend!  We went to the M&M store and bought a bag of assorted M&M’s, they have so many different flavors!  They have a whole wall of M&M’s!  There are 4 floors in this store, each floor has different M&M merchandise.  We had an early dinner at one of the many street side restaurants, we had a nice cold beer and a plate of deluxe nacho’s with pulled pork & brisket, it was very good!  We had a very nice day together!!

Laughlin, Nevada

We are staying at the Avi Casino resort and KOA Campground.  This is a very nice campground and we can use the facilities at the Casino.  They have a pool and a very nice beach on the Colorado River!  We are staying here for 2 nights.  Today we took a trip to Oatman, Arizona, it was only 13 miles.  Oatman is a old mining town founded in 1906.  It is a very interesting little town, they have wild burro’s wandering the street.  You can buy burro food and feed them, they are very cute!  Clark Gable and Carol Lombard spent their honeymoon at the Oatman Hotel!  This town is on the old Route 66 highway!
