On the Move

Well, we left Kananaskis September 14th.  We went to Airdrie and spent 1 night in the Walmart parking lot.  September 15th we got up had breakfast at Tim Horton's then hit the road to go to Herman and Annette's farm!  We got there mid afternoon and got set up.  We stayed by the cabin because Herman had our area road dug up to put gravel in it.  We were able to hook up to 15amp power which was great.  Leon and Cindy got here on the 16th, they set up on the road in front of the new shop, they also had 15amp power.  The shop is so gorgeous!!  It is huge!!   The weather this year was fantastic!!  We had such a good time!!  Alyssa and the girls came out and Steven, Nancy and the boys came out for the weekend.  It was so great they were able to come out and spend time with us!!  The kids had a blast driving(yes driving!!) the quad!  Doug helped Herman put in a new front gate at the property, well, just the posts as they needed to get new concrete because the old stuff was out of date and did not set properly.  Luckily they were able to get the posts out and put new concrete in the hole.  They got the new posts in and let them set.  Unfortunately we had to leave as I had a doctors appointment.  We left on Oct. 2nd and made it to Cochrane, the office at Bow Rivers Edge was closed so we picked a spot and in the morning went and paid for a week.  We actually stayed a week and a half as we went to watch Jaiden's football team play their first playoff game.  They won!!  Herman and Annette came and stayed for 1 night at Bow River's Edge, as they were heading south for a 5 week holiday.  It was great they could stop and visit with us!!
Oct 21st we left Cochrane and headed to B.C.  We tried to stay at Crazy Creek Campground but the water was turned off and we had no water in our tank.  We carried on and decided to stay at Kekuli Bay Prov. Park.  Their water was also turned off but we were able to fill our tank.  This park is so pretty!!  We stayed 2 days here then off to Osoyoos to stay at Nk'Mip RV Resort.  We will be here till the 22nd of November, then we make the push south!!

Year 4 in Kananaskis

Well, yesterday we left Ghost Station Campground to go to Boulton Creek Campground(Staff Compound) for the summer season.  It was snowing like crazy when we left, but soon let up.  We stopped at the Casino for breakfast, then off to Peter Lougheed Prov. Park.  The roads were nice and dry.  The compound was pretty dry too so we didn't get all muddy.  We had to move our trailer 3 times(in our spot) to get a satellite signal!!😛  We finally got one and finished setting up.  Late afternoon it started snowing and snowed through the night!  We had quite a dump of snow.  We are so glad we got here when we did!!  What a difference a day makes!!

Upcoming summer in Kananaskis

Well, we made it through the winter, including the brutal February we had!!  Doug had his hip replaced and all went well.
We will be heading to Kananaskis on Wednesday if the weather co-operates.  This will be our 4th summer working in Kananaskis.  Where does the time go????
We are looking forward to another great summer.  We had fun this winter with the grandchildren.  Paige and Katie had their first cross country ski experience and had a great time, and did awesome!  We went tobogganing with Alyssa and the girls in Banff and had a great time.  Except for February's brutal cold weather, we had a good winter.

Kananaskis for the Summer

I can't believe it is June 18th already!  We are back working in Kananaskis for the summer.  The weather so far has not been great.  We are both getting back into the routine of working, me at the store and Doug doing maintenance.  We are enjoying being back in the mountains!  New this year, we both got kayaks😍😎  I have been out in mine 2 times, Doug 1 time in his.  Now if the weather gets better we can take them out more often.  We both really enjoy kayaking!!  Bear 139 is back and she has 2 cubs, her first.  She is really causing problems in the campground as her and her cubs won't leave.  They had to close loop A and possible closure in loop B!  She is just too used to people.  Her cubs are so adorable, her and the cubs walked right through the compound where we are!  The next day she was laying right behind our unit having a nap!  Hopefully she will get the message and leave the campground!😔

Mesa, Arizona TowerPoint Resort

February 23rd,

I can't belive we are nearing the end of February!!  We have been here for 3 months, boy does time ever fly!!  It has been very enjoyable to stay in one place for the winter, especially in a resort that offers so many activities, etc.!!  The weather has been quite nice.  We had a few cold snaps(not like back home though)!  I made a pound puppy out of my Blue Fox fur coat, it was quite a challenge as I had to sew it all by hand!  I had a lot of help from Linda here at the resort, she has made a lot of teddy bears and such.  I love the way he turned out and he is going to be perched on my bed!!  I am now in the process of making a Teddy Bear!  I also used the long arm quilting machine on my quilt.  That was fun!!  In January we had a visit from Alyssa, Paige and Katie, they had a great time and we had a lot of fun with them.  They were with us for a week.  We also had a visit from brother Herman and niece Elice.  They stayed for a couple of days, it was nice to see them!  Herman will be back in March with Annette for another visit!  We are in festival week here at the resort and they have so much going on!!  The theme this year is USA day and Canada day!!  Lots of fun to be had by all!!  They have .25 cent beer and wine for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, gotta love it!!!!

Almost Done!!

I can't believe that the summer is almost over, it has gone so fast!  We have had a great summer!  The weather has been awesome, although we could use some rain now to ease the fire situation!  Doug has enjoyed doing maintenance, and I have enjoyed working in the store.
We have had Fridays and Saturdays off this year and were able to see family more.  In July we were able to go to Jess(my nephew) and Tanya's wedding which was in Edson.  We were so happy to be able to attend!!  Also, Aug. 11th we went to Phantom of the Opera, which was sooooo excellent!!
It is starting to wind down and not be so busy out here.  I am looking forward to spending some time with family before we head down to Arizona for the winter.  This year we booked Tower Point Resort in Mesa, Arizona.  We will stay put for 4 months at the resort.  I look forward to not driving so much and just doing day trips from Mesa!
My handsome Nephew Jess and his beautiful bride Tanya!

Back in Kananaskis

Yesterday we got back to Kananaskis and got all set up for another summer!  Hopefully the weather will be nice this summer and not like last with all the rain and cold!!  There is still snow on the ground!!  Boulton Creek Campground opens this weekend and it is fully booked!!  People sure can't wait to get out of the city!  We don't have our schedule yet, but should get it today.
