Vegas to Bauer Canyon RV Park Utah

Yesterday we drove from Vegas to Bauer Canyon Ranch RV Park, our next stop on our journey.  We had a very long day due to taking highway 9 to Zion Park and being turned back because we were to long.(They should have had a sign in La Verkin stating this)  On our way back down we got the signal in our truck that we had a tire that was low.  By the time we got back into La Verkin our tire was flat.  Doug had to change it and this took about an hour.  We got back on the road and pulled into Bauer Canyon about 8:30PM.  They had a sign on the door stating our spot.  We got all set up and relaxed for the rest of the evening.  Today we went to Zion National Park and did some walking around and just taking in the beauty around us!  Zion is a spectacular park, it's beauty just takes my breath away!  We had an awesome day!

Vegas Baby!!

Today Doug and I took the shuttle from Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino, which is close to our RV Park to the Strip.  We spent about 4 hours walking around!  It was very busy!!  Probably because it is Easter Weekend!  We went to the M&M store and bought a bag of assorted M&M’s, they have so many different flavors!  They have a whole wall of M&M’s!  There are 4 floors in this store, each floor has different M&M merchandise.  We had an early dinner at one of the many street side restaurants, we had a nice cold beer and a plate of deluxe nacho’s with pulled pork & brisket, it was very good!  We had a very nice day together!!

Laughlin, Nevada

We are staying at the Avi Casino resort and KOA Campground.  This is a very nice campground and we can use the facilities at the Casino.  They have a pool and a very nice beach on the Colorado River!  We are staying here for 2 nights.  Today we took a trip to Oatman, Arizona, it was only 13 miles.  Oatman is a old mining town founded in 1906.  It is a very interesting little town, they have wild burro’s wandering the street.  You can buy burro food and feed them, they are very cute!  Clark Gable and Carol Lombard spent their honeymoon at the Oatman Hotel!  This town is on the old Route 66 highway!

Back in the States

We crossed the border at Tecate back into the states on April 3rd.  There was a long line of vehicles waiting to cross, it took about 45 minutes to get to the border.  We crossed with no problems.  We drove the short distance to Potrero County Park and stayed for 3 nights, it is such a pretty park!  From there we left and went to the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreational Area, California.  We stayed on BLM Land which is free, we stayed for 2 nights.  It was a pretty barren area with the only attraction being the sand dunes.  They are quite impressive.  It is a very popular area for off road vehicles.  We climbed to the top of one of the dunes, the sand is so fine!  It was pretty neat!  We left on April 8th and drove to Lake Havasu, we are staying just outside of Lake Havasu on BLM Land at a place called Lone Tree.  Again this is free camping.  This is a much prettier area with a beautiful view!  We went into Lake Havasu and walked around by London Bridge, then we had dinner at Javalina Cantina.  It was a good day!  Tomorrow(April 10th) we are going golfing!

Ensenada

We are at Estero Beach Hotel and Resort.  This is a very beautiful resort!!  We were only going to stay 2 nights but this morning we ran into a guy that washes RV's.  We asked him how much and he said $80.00US for both the fifth wheel and the truck!  We decided to take advantage of this as we really needed our rigs washed!  They did such a good job, even waxed the unit!  They took 3 hours for the fifth wheel and another 2 hours for the truck!  The fifth wheel has never looked this clean, and the truck looks brand new!!  These guys take pride in what they do, they did an amazing job!  We are going to shine heading down the road!  We walked all through the resort and through the museum they have here, it was quite interesting.  The RV park has a pool and hot tub, laundry, showers and bathrooms.  The hotel looks like one of those all inclusive places, it is gorgeous!  Loved spending a few days here!  This ends our time in the Baja!  It has been a fantastic trip and we have enjoyed it very much!!
